It is a tradition in many Asian countries: the dead in the family are remembered every year.  Here in the Vuong family, Ruth is remembered every year on the 26th of December, for she is always dear to our hearts.  We hold a memorial from 7:00 to 7:30 pm every year at home.  Whoever knows Ruth is always welcome. No advance notice is needed.

Death memorials are always held on the day of the person's death.  But we broke with tradition, and hold it on the day of her birth, which is only a week off from the day of her death.
